CLIENT: Our client is a diversified investment management and talent advisory firm with ventures in entertainment, media, fashion, sports, technology and philanthropy. They take a new, holistic approach to talent development and build impactful brands for the long term with clients who are passionate about using their platforms to spark positive change. They manage the private investments, new business incubations, brand partnerships, operating models and marketing and creative for the talent they work with.
ROLE: Our client is seeking a Senior Vice President of Business Development. You will be instrumental in identifying, assessing and driving new business opportunities for our client and their clients, expanding their business through strategic partnerships and ventures. These venture and partnership opportunities cut across entertainment, music, fashion, sports and technology. It will involve owning and nurturing relationships with senior leaders at the world’s leading top companies in these areas, developing an opportunity from an initial idea though to a concrete deal or scope of work for the team to execute on.
LOCATION: In-office presence required; Paris.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Strategic business development: Develop and execute business strategies to enhance our client’s growth. Identify and assess new business and network opportunities, including joint ventures, partnerships, and new market entries.
- Client relations: Work closely with our client’s talent and their team to align business opportunities with client goals. Work closely with their clients to develop innovative business solutions that expand their professional footprint.
- New client development: work to identify, assess, develop and nurture new client opportunities that our client’s team can close and execute
- Partnership management: Identify, negotiate, and secure brand partnerships and deals with various external entities that align with the talent's brands and our client’s firm’s objectives.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build our client’s relationships with high priority and high potential stakeholders of commercial or strategic importance to the firm and its clients
- Leadership and collaboration: Build out a business development team and collaborate with other senior team members to align on strategic initiatives and company goals.
- Market analysis: Conduct detailed market research and analysis to understand trends, opportunities, and risks within the industries of interest. Use insights to inform strategic decisions and initiatives.
- Reporting and communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with all stakeholders. Regularly report on progress and adjustments to the business development strategies to the CEO and executive team.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proven track record of successful business development in talent management, entertainment, venture capital or related fields.
- Strong understanding of the dynamics in music, fashion, entertainment, media, sports and tech industries.
- Excellent negotiation and relationship management skills, with the ability to manage and grow high-level partnerships.
- Strategic thinker with a robust analytical mindset and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional leadership capabilities and experience managing cross-functional teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field; MBA preferred.
