Senior Underwriter - French Market Facing (Relocate to Ireland)

Our client is a leading global casualty and specialty risk insurer providing innovative risk solutions to clients and partners worldwide.

This is a senior role working closely with the CUO to develop the company's Accident & Health offering across European markets, with a focus on France.

Key Responsibilities:

• Price risks appropriately, considering market conditions, industry trends, and individual risk profiles.
• Negotiate terms and conditions with brokers and MGAs.
• Monitor portfolio performance and identify trends.
• Stay abreast of industry developments, regulatory changes, and emerging risks within the Accident & Health market.
• Collaborate with other departments, including claims, actuarial, and sales, to ensure effective risk management and business growth.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers, clients, and other key stakeholders, with a focus on the French market.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or a related field; a Master's degree or relevant professional designations (e.g., ACII) are preferred.
• Significant experience (typically 5+ years) in Accident & Health risks, with strong market connections, particularly within the French market.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Fluency in French is essential; a second European language would be attractive.

Compensation:

• A strong 6-figure package with excellent career prospects is anticipated; the exact salary will be commensurate with experience.
