What does the role entail?

As a senior broker and Howden Re team member, you will prospect and manage relationships with cedants by providing key strategic advisory services using Howden Re Global expertise and resources. You will place risks on their behalf and deliver reinsurance services with excellency and innovation. You will negotiate effective terms to ensure client needs are best met in relation to suitable pricing and cover.

You will also contribute to shape new innovative services. As a senior member of the team, you are welcomed to share views, ideas and suggest new investments that would make an impact for the reinsurance industry and our clients.

You will be part of the broking team, directly reporting to the Managing Director and be in close collaboration with the various team members, brokers, analytics, LOB experts, accountant or legal counsel. As part of the Howden Re international unit, you will also contribute to international projects.

What will you be doing?

As Broker for Howden Re France and BeLux, you will:

• Develop new services to differentiate Howden Re versus existing competition and provide added value to clients.
• Lead prospecting of new and existing business.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions.
• Analyse and assess clients' risk profiles to recommend appropriate reinsurance coverage.
• Provide expert advice to clients on reinsurance matters, including coverage options, pricing, and market trends.
• Foster and maintain relationships with reinsurers to ensure a broad network of reinsurance options.

What do you need to be successful in the role?

• A master’s degree in business, Finance, Actuarial or Insurance related field.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in reinsurance advisor, reinsurance brokerage or a related field
• Proven negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to understand technical topics, to analyse complex data and make informed decisions.
• Good understanding of reinsurance markets, products, and industry regulations.
• Willingness to work in a team with a collaborative culture and friendly environment
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Business fluent in written and spoken French and English
• Based in Paris
