HPC Hardware Engineer

These advanced systems integrate thousands of compute servers interconnected by high-speed interfaces, tackling complex tasks across various industries, including weather forecasting and human brain mapping.


We are looking for a HPC Delivery Hardware Consultant to join our client's Delivery Team. This team is responsible for the entire installation phase of the machine at customer sites—from hardware procurement to execution of acceptance tests. In this role, you will be involved in the physical installation and setup of our supercomputers, ensuring optimal performance and collaborating with software specialists to keep everything running smoothly.


About the Role


As an HPC Delivery Hardware Consultant, you will play a crucial role in preparing customer sites, installing hardware, and ensuring everything is functioning optimally. Your work will be essential to making sure that the hardware and infrastructure are correctly installed, and you will also be responsible for collaborating with the software team to ensure the machine’s health and performance.


Key Responsibilities


  • Participate in the site preparation phase at customer premises, including ensuring power and hydraulic cooling are in place and optimized.
  • Assist with the physical installation of HPC systems and monitor their health during setup.
  • Perform diagnostics to identify issues and work with software specialists to maintain the optimal condition of the machines.
  • Collaborate with various teams to troubleshoot and resolve hardware-related issues.
  • Ensure that installations meet the required standards for performance and reliability.


Minimum Technical Skills


  • Background in electronics or mechanical engineering.
  • Basic UNIX/Linux skills for troubleshooting and monitoring system performance.
  • Cabling experience is a plus, especially in the context of large-scale systems.


Desirable Knowledge & Competencies (strong plus)


  • Familiarity with datacenter environments and best practices.
  • Basic knowledge of networking and scripting.
