About the Role: The Director of Global Scientific Communication serves as the primary link between R&D, Product Marketing, Advanced Technology, and Legal teams. This role is responsible for developing and executing strategic scientific messaging that reinforces the brand’s credibility in the active-derm-inspired skincare space. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of skin science, product formulation, and consumer insights to enhance brand storytelling and innovation.


Key Responsibilities:

R&D Brand Innovation Partner & Coordinator:

  • Act as the single R&D point of contact for the brand, coordinating all related functions including Advanced Technology, Formulation, Clinical & Claims.
  • Provide strategic insights into the brand’s New Product Launch (NPL) calendar, integrating consumer preferences, competitive landscape, and technical expertise.
  • Identify key ingredients, actives, and technology stories in collaboration with R&D and Scientific Communications to support brand concepts and product development.
  • Oversee all R&D testing, including safety, clinical, sensory, in-vitro, and packaging evaluations.
  • Develop product profiles, testing protocols, and formula dossiers to support product launch and market entry.
  • Facilitate manufacturing start-ups, ensuring quality control during first production approvals.

Enhancing Brand Credibility & Scientific Authority:

  • Develop and refine science-driven messaging to reinforce the brand’s position in the active-derm-inspired category.
  • Conduct in-depth skin science research and analyze industry publications to link product benefits with consumer skin needs.
  • Partner with Product Marketing to build an innovation pipeline aligned with specific skin concerns and market trends.
  • Ensure alignment between marketing claims and scientific content, bridging the gap between regulatory, legal, and R&D functions.
  • Strengthen digital consumer messaging through literature research and SEO-optimized scientific storytelling.
  • Represent the brand at industry events, PR engagements, and Key Opinion Leader (KOL) forums to position it as a scientific authority in skincare.


Candidate Requirements:

  • Technical Degree such as; Cosmetic Science, Biology, or Biotechnology
  • Strong expertise in skincare and scientific communication, with a background in R&D, clinical research, or formulation.
  • Experience working in a global luxury beauty, dermatology, or personal care brand, ensuring scientific credibility in product innovation.
  • Native French speaker with fluency in English.
  • Exceptional organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including experience in scientific storytelling and presenting complex concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to think creatively and bring fresh perspectives to ingredient innovation, product formulation, and consumer education.
  • Hands-on expertise in evaluating cosmetic products and effectively communicating their benefits.
